Craig, a former foster kid, is working on his master's in exercise science while holding down two jobs: Zumba instructor and go-go dancer.
When David sees the sexy go-go dancer at the nightclub where he's meant to meet his blind date, he's immediately filled with lust. But David's blind date is a big ol' leather daddy wearing nothin' but suspenders, and David runs out of the club screaming inside, not realizing he's left his phone (with a photo of his, um, *coughs, big cock, coughs*) behind.
Good thing Craig finds it and is immediately interested in David's many assets.
What I liked about this book is that it was about ordinary men living everyday lives. Craig and David felt real. Craig has a fantastic Zumba instructor body, but his financial situation is precarious, and he's a little defensive and prickly. David isn't even in such great shape and wears nerdy glasses, but he's a little freak in bed.
The angst here was minimal, the sex rough and sweet. The MCs actually communicate, and while Craig does hide some things from David, David doesn't ditch him when he finds out.
And, amazingly, the kid, David's daughter Maia, did not overtake the story. She was entirely appropriate for a 3-year-old. Thank you, Daisy Harris, for getting the kid right. I am not a fan of kids in stories, but Maia was kind of cute.
I liked that we got both MCs' POV, although the POV shifts did feel a bit abrupt at times.
Overall, this was a very sweet read with enough tenderness and hot times to keep it sexy.
And the epilogue? Well, damn, if that doesn't make you want to run through the ocean at sunset, I don't know what will.

I loved David's character. He was awkward in a nerdy, inexperienced way. Craig was confident, yet a bit damaged. I thought they were great together.
This was a super cute read. Very sweet. Little to no angst and drama. With a nice amount of steam!

Ho ho ho! This book was holiday-licious! Light and sweet, it perfectly hit the spot!I have a thing for bi-sexual MCs. It is kind of like my new thing, people. Though I have yet to read a story where the guy is bi and goes from guy to girl... any M/F authors want to try??
Doctor David is a widower with a small child, and he is trying to get back on the dating scene. I really related to him and his struggles to find time for romance with a kid in tow. David is sort of out of shape and out of practice, and so his meeting with super-hot Craig feels like his lucky break.
I also loved Craig. He had a lot of depth and emotion without being overly heavy or downer-ville, and picturing him dancing and sweaty was all kinds of hot! Psst- that cover model needs more chest hair, STAT!
Though there weren't a ton of sex scenes, the ones that were there were scorching! I loved David's eagerness. I wanted to bone him, he was so hot and ready! The two men had really awesome chemistry.
This book capped off with a sweet epilogue and left me feeling happy and sa-tis-fied. I'm sure readers will be scooping this up come holiday season.

David Letterer
Maybe this was casual for Craig, but David hoped Craig was feeling the sift between them. David wanted more. Hopefully, as Craig closed his eyes and settled into this bath, he wanted more too.David is a widower with a three year old daughter. He's spent the last few years mourning the loss of his wife and showering his little girl with affection. He has the support of his friends and his sister in-law but he's still incredibly lonely.
The online dating scene is absolutely daunting - profiles and dick-pics and leather-daddies (oh my!) but David finally takes a chance on a blind date at a local club. When he discovers that the man he's supposed to be meeting is totally NOT his type, he winds up nervously people-watching instead.
A few rum and cokes later and he can't take his eyes off a striking young go-go dancer on the stage. Dressed in nothing but a Santa hat and a pair of little shorts, the dancer is the embodiment of all David's sexual fantasies...
Craig Harding
He wasn't the same street rat he'd been in his teens. He'd gotten his life together, with jobs and a place to live and even multiple degrees. He still couldn't shake the notion that a guy like David was way out of his league.Craig is studying for his Masters Degree in Exercise Science and has aspirations of opening his own Zumba studio one day... For now he's crashing at a friends house, teaching Zumba classes at a local gym, and working a few nights a week as a go-go dancer at Pony.
With the spotlights trained on him, Craig doesn't see any of the men who watch him night after night. While taking a break between dances, Craig finds a lost cell phone in the men's bathroom. He's scrolling scrolling through the info on the phone hoping to identify the owner when he discovers a particularly intriguing selfie.
And not of someone's face if ya know what I mean...
One which inspires Craig to track down the owner and invite him to coffee. David doesn't recognize Craig as the dancer from Pony, and that's just fine with him. He has enough baggage without letting David know that he's also a dancer...
Craig is a former foster-kid who has little love for the Christmas season. His childhood wasn't nearly as loving and healthy has David's daughter Maia's. He knows that his dancing days are temporary, but he's lived hand-to-mouth long enough to feel completely out of place in David's life of warmth and wealth.
David is instantly attracted to the man who returns his phone. He's determined see if flirting can turn into something bigger and better (and hotter and more naked) but David hasn't dated in years so his skills are more than a little rusty.
These two ease into a relationship which has each of them terrified. David doesn't know if he can ask a man to accept that he's a package deal - father and daughter... Craig doesn't know if there's a place in David's pristine world for someone as scarred as him...
The chemistry between these two men was just lovely to see, and even the awkward getting to know you phase was charming as hell. There was definitely a lot of humor and romance to keep the reader entertained and the sexy-times were perfection.
Side Note: This book had the most glorious epilogue, and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling all over.
Definitely a must read for lovers of MM and Christmas magic! So snuggle up with a cup of coco (or Rum and Coke) and get ready for a fantastic romance that will warm your heart!

Why "David's Selfie" works for me?

And this was realistic! The reactions, the characters and the plot - I buy it. I always root for the underdog MC, the MC that has to work for the life they have. Craig, the Masters student who works two jobs, is an ex-foster kid and never had a sweet life? He was a pleasure to read. The other MC, bisexual widower, David and his three-year-old, Maia, they were endearing and real too. Go figure, a toddler who acted her age instead of a miniature adult.
Told in alternating POV, this holiday novella starts with a crotch pic. How cool is that? A romance that starts with a lost cell phone and selfie...which grows into a HEA romance.
David is a doctor who should be at the prime of his life. He's only thirty. But he has a three year old and is already a widower. He is lonely and trying to get back into the dating game. So to try to entice potential suitors in this day and age, he takes a picture of his Johnson. In a comedy of errors, he loses his cell at a club. And the guy who he ogled but never thought he'd have a chance with, the hunky go-go boy, Craig finds the phone. And so begins their mating dance.
Craig was a nice guy. He proved to be more than a pretty face and hot body. He wanted substance and he finds that in David. Maybe not the built-in family with Maia (loved his reaction to her). He knows David would be worth it though in the beginning there are a few factors that work against them. They make it work, be it conflicting schedules, no available places to hook up, a wicked cold or not fully opening about their entire life. There is some "let-me-not-tell-what-I-really-do-for-a-living-since-you're-a-professional-and-I'm-not" aka "you're too good for me" but it wasn't heavy handed.
My issues: The story starts strong, ends rushed.
I think the 'I love you' bit also was premature. Maybe not on David's part as he's used to being in a relationship but Craig? The kid who couch surfed, has been kicked out at seventeen and lived in his own, has abandonment issues, never been in a relationship, is hard to crack (as he admits)...I expected more of an internal struggle from him. It's hard to go from being independent and not needing another person to opening up. Maybe that part is just me, I guess it could happen. I just question if it would truly be Craig's reaction.
And I love epilogues, love them. This one...it wasn't really necessary. It also read rushed.
Overall a great story. Not too merry sweet, a little hurt /comfort, some laughs, hot sex, and a heavy dose of reality.
And the best part? The story is not a one trick pony that relied on the selfie...it is way more than a dick pic. It's a happy romance, light low on the angst and relatable.

Light and sweet, "David's Selfie" is a Christmas's story that tells the story of David, a bisexual 30 years old man. Craig lived is a foster home until he was 17. He works two jobs, one as a go-go dancer and Zumba instructor to afford to pay for his studies. He dreams to open a studio, after he finishes his degree in Exercise Science.
David and Craig start to date, falling hard and fast for each other.
I liked this one! It was easy to read, sweet and sexy. I loved the chemistry between them and I enjoyed the sexy times. Both men were lovely. David was great. He is ready to give Craig what he always wanted and needed – security and love. I liked that he accepted Craig's job and he wasn't a judgmental prick. Craig is ambitious and confident and I liked him for that. He wants to have an honest job and a future, even if now has to be a go-go dancer.
I really wish the epilogue was a little longer.
Low in angst and drama, this was a very nice, sexy read!

David is a widower with a toddler. Having lost his wife Ana, he decides that it's time for him get back to the boy love side of being bisexual and get laid. Feeling brave, he attempts to take a selfie of his package, with an insistent toddler outside the door. Having three kids, I loved the reality of this situation. No, I haven't tried to take naked pictures in the bathroom, but my husband and used I to say that our youngest son, had literal fucking radar. *nods* Just think about that one for a minute and imagine the cries of "Why can't I come in?!" from the other side of your bedroom door, every time. So now that I have gone all TMI…
This story was very real for me, one of the most realistic of romances I have read in while. There was no suspending of anything in this I only had to find the time to read and get lost with the boys. It's an easy and fun read, with a sprinkle of awe inducing awkward moments, but also a sexy as hell read. Goodness, just thinking about David being all greedy but needy at the same time and Craig with his ability to take control but be so damn vulnerable… I was done for with that combination.
The romance was wonderful but the layers, the layers of these men are what kept me glued to the page. You would think, going into this that David with be the one with the suitcase full of issues but his are just carry-on luggage compared to what Craig has to unload. Ugh. Craig, so many times I wanted to bundle up the go go boy and just hug the hell out of him. From his childhood, to his living situation and his feelings about dancing. I adored that he was attracted to all of David, that the idea of the "ordinary" boy was what he wanted though most would assume, on the surface it would be the opposite. The whole more than meets the eye theme is apparent here and I loved the way these two find one another.
When David turned and saw Craig, it was as if Craig was seeing spring for the first time. Plenty of men watched Craig dance on weekend nights, impressed or lustful or even amused. None of them looked at him like David did.
So about that, back to David and that selfie of his package. Who would have thought leaving your phone in the bathroom at the local gay bar could lead to finding your future? I mean, I am a sucker for romance and believe in fate and being in the right place at the right time. I can't help it, I saw his – um face? and I'm a believer.
David being a dad was done so well. Many instances I was nodding along with being a parent. I liked how real Maia was and how she wasn't a caricature or too mature for her small three years, she was simply David's daughter, a huge part of his life and the cutest button to watch as she charmed the hell out of Craig.
I am so in love with this book! This book hooked me in immediately, from the first page to that oh so perfect, clench your heart and swoon across the bed like a princess, epilogue. It has everything that I love and then some. It even has Christmas! *gasp* and though that cover makes me want to have Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg offering me their dick in a box, I can't stop freaking (sorry about the language, David) grinning and sighing and swooning and falling in love with these men.
... he wondered if Craig knew what a gift he was giving. Whether he knew David felt really alive for the first time in years.
Did I say anything about the book? I have no idea, so let me say this. If you are looking for a hot, sexy, smart, funny, endearing and all over romantic read that will make your toes curl as you turn into goo… pick this up. That's all. *runs off to check phone for inappropriate pictures I need to delete*

Broad strokes gloss over some scenes that could have benefited from being more fleshed out, but overall a quick, enjoyable, easy read.

When the story involved a single father and a go-go dancer who was working to pay through his school, I expected a more complicated emotional situation. How could the go-go dancer dealt with being embarrassed enough for his job that he didn't really say anything to the single dad? How could the go-go dancer worked through connecting to the child? Definitely MORE than just the two men trying to figure out where they could have sex. *Cue Roll Eyes*.
Unless they tickle my fancy I usually skim sex scenes because for me sex scene in a book is like an extra cheese on pizza-topping that I can live without. Or if there are sex scenes, they should be significant enough for me to care. So David and Craig caring more about the sex rather than Craig connecting with Maia, David's child, considering they thought about making the relationship longer than just one night stand, just didn't rock my boat.
I could see readers who like smutty story will enjoy this one more than I. It's not a bad story ... I mean, I loved that David was a bi-sexual (we could use more bi-sexual characters), and the child was not a result of some sort of experimental phase. I loved that David truly loved his ex-wife even if he also liked men. I loved that the ex-wife's sister was portrayed as a very supportive character to David's attempt of moving on. I loved that the child felt natural, not being too bratty or too perfect. I also LOVED the epilogue, that was sweet.
However, in overall, it wasn't enough of my preference in romance (over smutty) in this story to give it more than 3.5 stars.

How I choose my rating:
1* Didn't like it at all. These are rare as I usually just don't finish any book I dislike this much.
2** Didn't like it. Again usually DNF if I dislike it this much, but occasionally I feel it still has potential and I try to stick with it to the end.

This was light and flirty, exactly what I was looking for after a much darker read. There is some angst here, but not too much. The daughter is not used too much, allowing the boys to be front and centre of the narrative.
Enjoyably sexy.

The attraction is definitely mutual and David thinks that Craig is way out of his league. Also, Craig doesn't want to admit he is the gogo dancer David was ogling the night before.
I thought David and Craig were so sweet and I loved that David's daughter liked Craig, too. They were like the family that Craig never had, having grown up in the foster system. And while the gogo gig makes for a tense moment, David is already half in love with Craig at that point, so it isn't the deal breaker that Craig assumed it would be.
An overall sweet story about finding love and acceptance and being a family.
(view spoiler)[I wondered a couple times if it was Craig's roommate, Joachim, that David was originally supposed to meet. Craig muses at one point that inviting David over to his place would be a bad idea because Joachim might have company and that person may just come wandering out wearing nothing but a leather harness and a butt plug. And later in the book, Joachim snarkily says that if Craig met David at the Pony, that the guy probably wouldn't show up anyway. Just made me wonder... and if so, I am glad that David decided on No. Joachim is an ass. (hide spoiler)]

I don't even care that the book was short. I freaking LOVED it.I love David. I love Maia. I love Craig. It was so cute and sweet and sexy and just awesome. Just what I needed at that moment!

And Craig is the perfect blend of eager and nervous around her. He is awkward when alone with her, and she, like a typical three year old, just commands the situation. Loved that.
I loved the way they got together, too. And the very end at Pony was adorable. It had me grinning so hard it hurt. And the epilogue was perfect.
Would I have liked more of them? Absolutely. But was it a perfectly sweet story that did make me tear up one, though? Definitely.
Well worth the read if you're looking for something short and sweet!

David wants to get laid. As a doctor and a single dad of the 3-years-old Maia that's quite a challenge. When he flees out of the bar he had a blind date at, he forget his phone on the toilet. Fortunately, Craig the go-go dancer finds it and give it back to him.
I really liked that David and Craig were real. Both of them had their struggles and insecuritiys which made them touchable. And I loved that Maia was like the 3-year-old she is supposed to be without taking over the story.

So this was a great little Christmas story which, IMO, even grinchs could enjoy without dieing out of sugar-jizz-overdose.

It was nice to have characters with depth and real emotion. I enjoyed this story. It made me happy.
A cute, sweet love story. Craig works at a job that he doesn't want and lives with a roommate who is a egotistical bully. David is a widower with a little daughter. David has no life outside his daughter. Craig has no life outside of school and trying to never be homeless again. They meet and it is hot.It was nice to have characters with depth and real emotion.
